I live in Michurinsk. It is a town in the Tambov region on the Lesnoy Voronezh river with a population of about 90 thousand people.
Michurin is a town of science. It is named after the scientist-breeder I. V. Michurin. Until 1932, the town was called Kozlov.
Horticulture research institutes are located in our town. New plant varieties are created there. There are also industrial enterprises in the town.
Our town is quiet and cozy. There are beautiful cathedrals, temples and historical buildings. One of the main attractions of the town is the Michurinsky state drama theater. Tourists should also visit the house-museum of A. M. Gerasimov, the house-museum of I. V. Michurin and Local lore museum.
My favorite place in the town is the Park of culture and recreation. One can see cute sculptures and a Ferris wheel there.
The All-Russian exhibition "Gardener's Day" is held annually in Michurinsk. Part of this event is the Michurinsky Apple Festival with an excellent entertainment program.

Я живу в Мичуринске. Это город в Тамбовской области на реке Лесной Воронеж с населением около 90 тысяч человек.
Мичурин - наукоград. Он назван в честь ученого-селекционера И. В. Мичурина. До 1932 года город назывался Козлов.
В городе находятся научно-исследовательские институты, занимающиеся вопросами садоводства. Там создают новые сорта растений. Также в городе есть промышленные предприятия.
Наш город тихий и уютный. Здесь есть красивые соборы, храмы и исторические здания. Одной из главных достопримечательностей города является Мичуринский государственный драматический театр. Туристам также стоит посетить дом-музей А. М. Герасимова, дом-музей И. В. Мичурина и краеведческий музей.
Мое любимое место в городе - Парк культуры и отдыха. Там есть колесо обозрения и симпатичные скульптуры.
В Мичуринске ежегодно проводится Всероссийская выставка «День садовода». Частью этого мероприятия является Фестиваль Мичуринского яблока с отличной развлекательной программой.
Я очень люблю свой родной город.
