- В заданиях True/False ищите детали: числа, отрицания, слова first, never, only, most.

Text 1. My Volunteer Summer
Last summer I decided not to spend my holiday at home playing computer games. Instead, I joined a volunteer programme at an animal shelter on the edge of our town. I was sixteen, and it was the first time I had ever had real responsibilities.
The shelter looked after about forty dogs and twenty cats. Most of them had been abandoned by their owners, and some were quite nervous around people. My first job was simple: I cleaned the cages and filled the water bowls. It was hard work, and by the end of the first week my back hurt every evening.
In the second week the manager, Mrs Collins, asked me to walk the dogs. One of them, a big grey dog called Bruno, refused to leave his cage at first. He had been badly treated before he came to the shelter. I sat next to him every morning and talked to him quietly. After ten days he finally let me put a lead on him, and we went for our first walk together.
Volunteering taught me a lot. I learnt to be patient, to work in a team and to get up early, which my parents found very surprising. I also realised that I would like to become a vet in the future. Now I am studying biology and chemistry more seriously because I will need them for university.
In September Bruno was adopted by a family with two children. I was sad to say goodbye, but I knew he would be happy in his new home. This summer I am going back to the shelter, and this time I have persuaded two of my friends to join me.

Text 2. The Real Price of Fast Fashion
Not long ago, people usually bought new clothes only a few times a year. Today many teenagers buy something new very often. Cheap T-shirts, jeans and dresses appear in shops and online so quickly that yesterday’s trend is already old. This is what people call fast fashion.
At first sight, fast fashion seems like good news. Clothes have become more affordable, and young people can follow trends without spending a fortune. However, the low price on the label hides other costs. Producing a single cotton T-shirt requires a large amount of water, and many cheap clothes are made from synthetic materials that do not break down for years. Because such clothes are often worn only a few times, huge amounts of them end up in landfill.
There is also a human cost. Many factories that produce cheap clothing are located in countries where wages are low and working conditions can be poor. Workers may spend long hours in crowded rooms for very little money.
So what can an ordinary teenager do? There are several simple steps. First, think twice before buying: will you really wear this item at least thirty times? Second, take care of the clothes you already have: wash them at lower temperatures and repair small holes instead of throwing things away. Third, try second-hand shops or organise a clothes swap with friends. Swapping is free, and it can be a lot of fun.
Nobody expects young people to stop buying clothes altogether. The aim is to buy less, choose better and keep things longer. If millions of people make small changes, the fashion industry will have to change too.
